2nd May 2026 – The Wall of Hope Ceremony
On 2nd May 2026, one of the most exciting moments of the Flower Festival will take place in Funchal’s Town Square: the symbolic Wall of Hope Ceremony.
This event is especially dedicated to children who gather in the Town Hall Square to create a mural made of flowers, representing a call for peace and solidarity in the world.

3rd and 17th May 2026 – The Grand Allegorical Parade
On 3rd and 17th May 2026, the streets of Funchal will be taken over by one of the most eagerly awaited events of the Flower Festival: the Grand Allegorical Parade.
The big news this year is that the parade will take place over two days, allowing the public to enjoy this unique moment twice over.
This parade is an unmissable spectacle, where floats richly decorated with flowers, accompanied by dancers and members dressed in full regalia, travel along Avenida do Mar in Funchal.
The parade is a true explosion of colour, creativity, and celebration, attracting thousands of visitors and locals who gather to watch this display of art and tradition.
