Sunrise above the clouds

Waking up at 3:00 am and leaving the warm sheets towards the mountains only if it’s for a good reason! Watching an act of nature as simple and natural as the sunrise at 1,861 mts of altitude ..believe me .. is a very valid reason for this act of courage.
This Sunday was like that and without a doubt I managed to increase my collection of inspiring moments.

Nature and Adventure in Madeira

04:30 in the morning, after a 40 km journey driving under clouds and even some drizzle, I arrived in Achada do Teixeira under a bright sky, an authentic suspended carpet full of glittering glitter, an indescribable scenario, a true invitation to contemplate in a peace and in a silence typical of the universe, it was like being completely surrendered to the stars… I came down to earth when I started to hear the sound of vehicles and motorcycles arriving with an enthusiastic group and with a lot of desire to attend a unique experience..

Amid flashlights and greetings in the dark of night, there we managed to gather the group and start the hike towards the highest peak in Madeira, the Pico Ruivo, 2.8 km to go and enjoy.

Along the way, the lanterns that accompany our hikers let us see a true path of light in the distance.. it even looks like some stars have come down and dance in line among the mountains.. fantastic!

Little by little the horizon is lit up by the star king and colors ranging from dark blue to a bright orange can be seen… and underneath a sea of ​​clouds, delicious details of our nature. The last 500m of the climb are steep. But minutes later and once they reach the top… the breathtaking and unique view relieves any panting.

The mild weather, the landscape of mountains surrounded by a blanket of clouds, the energy of the group with good mood and laughter fill the beginning of the day.. until the real show begins:

An experience to enjoy with friends

Moments of contemplation of a wonder of the universe that are a true meditation. The brightness, the movement, the light, the warmth that snuggles everyone, are of an unparalleled simplicity and beauty. And what can better in this moment? A hot coffee, bread and homemade jam… a delicious breakfast prepared with great care and brought to the top of the mountain by a dynamic and cheerful team.

All the ingredients for an unforgettable experience are here. I for sure will always remember this day
